One of the great things about a Chromebook is that it has a built in webcam. There are lots of ways to leverage the power of the webcam within the curriculum. One of those ways is by doing booksnaps. According to Tara Martin, "A BookSnap is simply a digital, visual representation used to annotate and share reflections of any excerpt of a book or text." The idea is to have students take a quick snapshot of a text and then ask them to interact with the text by adding annotations such as text boxes, images, and even emojis. As you can imagine, this activity really grabs students' attention! Have a look at this video to see the process in action.
